Our Support Team

Our Mission Statement

Youth and Training Centre (CIC) will empower young people and adults in the community where it works, particularly those of Somali origin, with developing social enterprising skills (with focus on commercial tailoring), to help them to achieve economic self sufficiency. This will be achieved through empowerment skills, peer support and facilitating access to education and training, so as to attain their full potential to become positive and contributing members of society.

Our vision is to empower, enable and support disadvantaged individuals from marginalised

communities to better achieve integrated and independant living in wider society.

We will achieve this through:

  • Delivering enterprising skills programmes to help young people engage in constructive activity, which builds confidence and skills.

  • Establishing informal learning groups run by the 'community', thus promoting user involvement.

  • Promoting the value of knowledge and life-long learning.

  • Working in partnership with other agencies to tackle problems normally faced by the Somali community in a joint effort as part of a broader community strategy.
